Studies of Religion is a two year course that promotes an awareness, understanding and application of the nature of religion and how it influences individuals and society. This is a course suited to students of an inquisitive nature who want to understand how and why religions of all types influence daily life. Each year we study three religious traditions of Christianity, Islam and Buddhism. Issues of peace, non-religion, Indigenous spiritualties and ancient religions are also covered. |

Students are formally assessed in various ways including extended writing, research tasks and oral presentations. In class, students can expect to demonstrate their understanding through written work, debates and discussions. |

Students should be prepared to extend their learning at home and be willing to share these ideas in the classroom. Studies of Religion is an exciting course that will allow students to research and investigate many different aspects of belief systems. Students must also be aware that this course requires them to be confident readers and be able to write extended responses to a high standard. These are key elements of this course. |
